Break and Build - Ps Andrew Yee

“Now Elijah the Tishbite, from Tishbe in Gilead, said to Ahab, “As the LORD, the God of Israel, lives, whom I serve, there will be neither dew nor rain in the next few years except at my word.””
‭‭1 Kings‬ ‭17:1‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Elijah= God is Savior
Eli=God; jah=Savior

“You will drink from the brook, and I have directed the ravens to supply you with food there.”

“Go at once to Zarephath in the region of Sidon and stay there. I have directed a widow there to supply you with food.””
‭‭1 Kings‬ ‭17:4, 9‬ ‭NIV‬‬

God may use someone you unexpected to bless you.

“After a long time, in the third year, the word of the LORD came to Elijah: “Go and present yourself to Ahab, and I will send rain on the land.”

When he saw Elijah, he said to him, “Is that you, you troubler of Israel?””
‭‭1 Kings‬ ‭18:1, 17‬ ‭NIV‬‬

“At noon Elijah began to taunt them. “Shout louder!” he said. “Surely he is a god! Perhaps he is deep in thought, or busy, or traveling. Maybe he is sleeping and must be awakened.” So they shouted louder and slashed themselves with swords and spears, as was their custom, until their blood flowed.”
‭‭1 Kings‬ ‭18:27-28‬ ‭NIV‬‬

“Elijah took twelve stones, one for each of the tribes descended from Jacob, to whom the word of the LORD had come, saying, “Your name shall be Israel.””
‭‭1 Kings‬ ‭18:31‬ ‭NIV‬‬

“Now Ahab told Jezebel everything Elijah had done and how he had killed all the prophets with the sword. So Jezebel sent a messenger to Elijah to say, “May the gods deal with me, be it ever so severely, if by this time tomorrow I do not make your life like that of one of them.” Elijah was afraid and ran for his life. When he came to Beersheba in Judah, he left his servant there,”
‭‭1 Kings‬ ‭19:1-3‬ ‭NIV‬‬

“while he himself went a day’s journey into the wilderness. He came to a broom bush, sat down under it and prayed that he might die. “I have had enough, LORD,” he said. “Take my life; I am no better than my ancestors.” Then he lay down under the bush and fell asleep. All at once an angel touched him and said, “Get up and eat.””
‭‭1 Kings‬ ‭19:4-5‬ ‭NIV‬‬

“The LORD said, “Go out and stand on the mountain in the presence of the LORD, for the LORD is about to pass by.” Then a great and powerful wind tore the mountains apart and shattered the rocks before the LORD, but the LORD was not in the wind. After the wind there was an earthquake, but the LORD was not in the earthquake. After the earthquake came a fire, but the LORD was not in the fire. And after the fire came a gentle whisper.
‭‭1 Kings‬ ‭19:11-12‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Changes of life came in a gentle whisper.

“He replied, “I have been very zealous for the LORD God Almighty. The Israelites have rejected your covenant, torn down your altars, and put your prophets to death with the sword. I am the only one left, and now they are trying to kill me too.””
‭‭1 Kings‬ ‭19:14‬ ‭NIV‬‬

“God did not reject his people, whom he foreknew. Don’t you know what Scripture says in the passage about Elijah—how he appealed to God against Israel: “Lord, they have killed your prophets and torn down your altars; I am the only one left, and they are trying to kill me”?”
‭‭Romans‬ ‭11:2-3‬ ‭NIV‬‬

“The LORD said to him, “Go back the way you came, and go to the Desert of Damascus. When you get there, anoint Hazael king over Aram. Also, anoint Jehu son of Nimshi king over Israel, and anoint Elisha son of Shaphat from Abel Meholah to succeed you as prophet.”
‭‭1 Kings‬ ‭19:15-16‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Hard time in making decision

Recently I really have a hard time and struggling when making decision.
God, I want to fulfill what you have put in me, I wish to Obey and Surrender, but somehow I'm scared to dead.
I keep pray, pray and pray... I doesn't know when I need to step out? Get in full time ministry as what my heart really longs for? Or working abroad which I can earn more money to clear my debt and give my family a better life (which I think is the best for them)
Heavenly Father, I really don't know what I should do??? I have been struggling for a year.... I don't wish to stay in this situation anymore... Either "Step in" or "Step out"
Tonight, I have been burden for something other than this... church leader Chester called me, asking me why recently I seem not or seldom call for coffee gathering... I really throw a shock when he asked me. What I should said....
I prayed and asked myself... settling down myself in Your presence once again... have a quiet time with You alone... turned off my phone connection... turned on the connection with You, my dearest Father in heaven.
I recalled I have read an email seem will help me to answer the questions which I asked you for such a long time. That's email was from Joseph Prince ministry.
What Is On Your Heart?
Hebrews 8:10
10“… I will put My laws in their mind and write them on their hearts...”
Many of us have been taught that we cannot trust our hearts. We quote verses like “The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked…” (Jeremiah 17:9), not knowing that Jeremiah was referring to the man who had not received Jesus as his Lord and Saviour.
I have had people come to me and say, “Pastor Prince, I don’t know what I should do with my life.”
“What is on your heart?” I asked one of them.
“I would love to work among children.”
“Then work among children!”
“But I am waiting on the Lord to tell me to do that.”
“Well, He has given you the desire, so go and work among children!”
“But the desire comes from my heart. How do I know if it is of God?”
My friend, once you are saved, you have a brand new heart (Ezekiel 36:26), and you can trust the promptings of your heart because God dwells in you and He leads you from within. And don’t worry because His promptings will never contradict His Word. It will lead you to good success.
Often, you find that when you follow your inner promptings, it is actually God who has put those desires in your mind and written them on your heart. I remember years ago when I approached one of our church leaders and told him, “I really think that you are called to be a full-time pastor.” It turned out to be a confirmation of what he already knew on the inside. You see, God was already leading him from within. Today, he is one of our full-time pastors.
If you enjoy something and desire to do it, then go for it! Go with the flow. God Himself says that He will guide us from within. Let’s not doubt Him. And don’t worry about the outcome. Your part is just to follow the flow. God’s part is to work in you both the willingness and the performance of it! (Philippians 2:13)
Beloved, because God has given you a new heart, He will write His desires on it. And as you fulfil these desires, you will bring forth fruit, and not wither and die. Whatever you do will prosper!
I really asked myself what can I do... how can I follow my inner prompting? Desire comes from my heart, how do I know if is of God? Ps. Joseph Prince answered my question... just asking myself am I dare to take this challenge to go with the flow?
“For God is working in you, giving you the desire and the power to do what pleases him.” -Philippians 2:13 NLT
Father, I know what I should do... give me the courage that I need to go with the flow. Holy Spirit, pease help me... I really need You!
